The Edmond de Rothschild Chair

Edmond de Rothschild Chair 2017

Launching of the 2017 campaign

The recruitment campaign for 2017 is open.

Objectives of the call for candidates

The goal of this campaign is to increase the visibility of research at the IBPC, to foster exchanges and to reinforce collaborations, to encourage the exchange of ideas, the transmission and diffusion of knowledge through conferences and seminars, and to underscore the implication of our researchers in socially relevant challenges.

Application Process

This Chair allows a researcher from a foreign country to be hosted in one of the laboratories of the IBPC for a period of 3 to 12 months.

The maximum sum awarded for this Chair is 75,000€ (depending on the duration of the project). The award covers expenses linked to return travel between the recipient's country of origin and the IBPC (France), the costs associated with the stay and the costs related to the scientific project (financial support to the host laboratory), equipment excluded.

Following jury selection of the best candidate, the final verdict will be rendered by the Administrative Council of the Fondation Edmond de Rothschild. The format of the financial aid will be defined on a case-by-case basis by the Fondation Edmond de Rothschild for the development of scientific research (FEDR) and the CNRS IBPC

During his/her stay, the Chair will give a major 'general interest' conference on a scientific theme of his/her choice and up to three 'speciality' conferences organised by the IBPC.

Conditions for eligibility

Candidates must have at least 15 years research experience since their doctoral degree. The laureate must be hosted in an IBPC laboratory and will continue to receive a salary from his/her home Institute or University.
