The call for 2020 is open.
Objectives of the call for candidates
The goal is to increase the visibility of research at the IBPC, to foster exchanges and to reinforce collaborations, to encourage the exchange of ideas, the transmission and diffusion of knowledge through conferences and seminars, and to underscore the implication of our researchers in socially relevant challenges.
Application Process
This Chair allows a researcher from a foreign country to be hosted in one of the laboratories of the IBPC for a period of 3 to 12 months.
The laureate will receive an award of 2000 euros per month and one round trip to the institute.
Following jury selection of the best candidate, the final verdict will be rendered by the Administrative Council of the Fondation Edmond de Rothschild. The format of the financial aid will be defined on a case-by-case basis by the Fondation Edmond de Rothschild for the development of scientific research (FEDR) and the CNRS IBPC
During his/her stay, the Chair will give a major 'general interest' conference on a scientific theme of his/her choice and up to three 'speciality' conferences organised by the IBPC.
Conditions for eligibility
Candidates must have at least 15 years research experience since their doctoral degree. The laureate must be hosted in an IBPC laboratory and will continue to receive a salary from his/her home Institute or University.
Selection criteria
Selection of candidates will be based on the following criteria:
- Scientific excellence of the foreign researcher: international scientific responsabilities, prizes, peer reviewed publications, international networks... involvement in social challenges.
- Quality of the scientific project planned for the stay.
- Expectations of the host laboratory in terms of scientific resourcing, collaborations, international visibility
- Strength of the partnership between the host and the foreign laboratory : previous connections and or perspectives for their development, common themes...
- Contribution to international standing: publications in international journals, international conferences
- Dissemination of scientific culture and richness of the pedagogical programme proposed, general scientific interest.
Proposals should be submitted before March 27 2020, so that the laureate can be hosted at the IBPC in 2020.
Candidature
Proposals are submitted on-line on the Fondation's web-site.
The application must contain the following doucuments (in one original example):
- a research project with at least one IBPC laboratory limited to 1 page,
- a curriculum vitæ.
